Mbappe and Dembele Send France Through Against Iraq
Another Kylian Mbappe brace and a Ousmane Dembele strike booked France's place in the knockout stage.

France booked their place in the round of 32 with a clinical 3-0 win over Iraq at Lincoln Financial Field, Kylian Mbappe again the chief tormentor with a first-half opener and a second after the break. Ousmane Dembele rounded off the scoring as Les Bleus eased through.
Mbappe strikes early
France needed little time to settle, Mbappe opening the scoring on 14 minutes to calm any nerves in Philadelphia. Iraq, needing a result to keep their hopes alive, struggled to contain France's movement and rarely threatened at the other end.
Dembele seals it
Mbappe doubled his tally on 54 minutes, again finding space behind a stretched Iraqi defence. Dembele made it three on 66 minutes, capping a fluent team move that confirmed France's qualification and their grip on top spot in Group I.
The defeat eliminated Iraq, who exit the tournament without a point but having tested France early in their opener. For France, the focus now turns to the group decider against Norway and the prize of finishing first.
