Portugal return to NRG Stadium in Houston on 23 June knowing only a win will do against Uzbekistan, after their 1-1 draw with DR Congo left Roberto Martinez's side on just a single point in Group K.

Pressure on the favourites

Portugal have looked inconsistent in front of goal, with Cristiano Ronaldo yet to find the net. Martinez is expected to persevere with the 41-year-old at the point of his attack, supported by the creativity of Bruno Fernandes, Vitinha and Pedro Neto. A return to fluency is needed to avoid a nervy finale.

Uzbekistan's opportunity

The debutants sit bottom after a 1-3 loss to Colombia but showed genuine spirit, with Abbosbek Fayzullaev and Manchester City's Abdukodir Khusanov standouts. They will likely sit deep and counter.

Prediction

Portugal's quality should ultimately tell, but Uzbekistan's discipline could make it tense. Prediction: Portugal 2-0 Uzbekistan.
